Bid Cancelled after Winning - What Happened Here?

So, anyone care to guess what the F*&% happened to my bid on this auction. If you look at the bidding history, my winning bid of 171.09 was cancelled a second after the auction ended. The winning bidder (who has contacted me) informed me that he was outbid by me in the last seconds, but then, was notified that he had won b/c my bid was cancelled. The seller has not responded to my email to provide a reason for cancelling my bid. Has this ever happened to anyone?
