Back when I was a kid I used to send out requests with cards all the time. I would usually send two or three cards and tell them they could keep the extras....The ones that I remember getting back were:
Pete Rose (along with a bunch of stuff about his recently released book. this was in the early 80's)
Tim Raines
Tom Seaver
Darryl Strawberry
Pete O'Brien

and lots of others I can't remember now, but I still have all those cards packed away.

I NEVER once got back a card from any Red Sox player and I sent a bunch of them.
