PaulNow that I've finally figured out how to post images, I'm ready to show off a card that I acquired. It's a "mini-cabinet" card of Amos Rusie, about the size of a postcard. I recently obtained it in a trade with another board member, who obtained it from still another board member, so it may not be news to many of you.
Anyhow, what is particularly interesting about it is that it shows Rusie with the Reds, who he played with for all of three games -- the last three games of his career. Our resident photography expert kindly examined it for me and concluded it was made using a type of photography that ordinarily was used only when the picture was being produced in quantity. This suggests that it may have been publicly distributed, perhaps in honor of Rusie's arrival with the Reds.
If any of you have any further information about this card -- or even educated speculation -- I would greatly appreciate it. Anyway, here it is.
