1936 Yankees ball

I am hoping you all can help me out. I am posting for a friend who inherited via parents and grandparents a 1936 Yankees team signed ball. I have not seen it, but he says it has DiMaggio and Gerhig on it. He has no interest in selling because it is a family heirloom, but is curious to know what it is worth. Any help is appreciated. I am really a card guy and don't know much about autographs.
