You can bid in the live auction...there will be a button on the screen that says something like "Bid in the live auction" and you click on that it will open a new window with the auction and there will be a "bid now" button. I've won lots of stuff on ebay live by bidding that way. You have to be fast on the trigger though as sometimes the floor action is so fast that they don't catch your bid.
