T206 Errors?

My experience has been that if you send a card to a grading company that is extremely off center, i.e. 100/0, it gets a (MC) qualifier or gets returned as mis-cut BUT when it is a T206 card that is SO off center top/bottom the name of the player appears at the top it is just called an "error"?

I've even seen SGC garde a T206 card like this. Can anyone give me a reasonable reason why these are "errors" and not "mis-cut"?
