Thanks all for the information - I have both versions of the 1994 pre-production set. I keep both in my 1993 master set binder since they were issued with the 1993 factory set.
If I could learn which version was given to hobby press, I would move that to the 1994 master set album. If one came in a factory set, and the other was given out by Topps, it still doesn't explain the red redemption certificate - if anyone knows anything, please pass it along!
