If anyone has anything in Canada that needs shipping via the postal system (as opposed to courier), I've learned that there are companies that will take mail over the border to the U.S. and send on your behalf. The fees appear fairly nominal, especially if it's something that you'd wish to receive faster but don't want to pay the pricier courier fees for. Might be worth doing some research if you find this is a service that would come in handy. Things haven't gotten so unbearable for me as of yet, so I have not looked into this option. From what I have heard, a local company charges $6 CAD per letter for this service.
