The greatest USC-Notre Dame picture ever! Babe Ruth (in ND shirt) and Lou Gehrig (in SC shirt) in Chicago the night before the 1927 game at the Palmer House. Notre Dame beat USC 7 to 6. Left to right: Glenn "Pop" Warner, Stanford football coach, Babe Ruth, professional baseball player (in the "ND" shirt), Knute Rockne, Notre Dame head football coach, Christy Wahlsh (the sports agent of Ruth, Rockne, and Gehrig), Lou Gehrig (in the "SC" shirt), USC head football coach Howard Jones, and Yale football coach Tad Jones.
