Not on ebay. Facebook marketplace believe it or not. The chance of this coming to fruition was around 1%. So many hurdles to clear.

First of all, to answer another question, you'd have to misspell "pennants" in your search to find them. The seller really fat fingered it.

Bocca actually saw them first, the entire lot for...wait for it....$40. Even with the misspelling it was only a matter of time before someone else, potentially local, thus more desirable, found them.

Add in...this was Facebook marketplace...a minefield of scammers to navigate thru and Marc freaked the seller out when he informed him of what he had lol. The guy thought Marc was a scammer and ghosted him. So Marc handed it off to me.

I told the guy I was very interested and asked for additional pictures. The only picture in his listing, I've included below. That's when I discovered there were two more baseball pennants. When I made my offer, the guy started to get suspicious of me...but was intrigued enough to stay engaged. I was suspicious as well. Sending this kind of money to a stranger on FBMP sounds like a horror story waiting to happen. I asked for his phone number. We had a couple of phone conversations. I showed him my website and after a little waffling between "let me think about it" and "lets do it" he warmed up to the deal. He seemed like a nice guy, which put me at ease. In his early 70s. He and his wife were in the process of clearing out his mother in laws house. The wife had never seen the pennants before but believed they were bought by her grandfather. No idea what they had, they initially considered throwing them in the dumpster and it was the wife who suggested FB. They were this close to likely disappearing forever.

Since Marc saw it first, I asked if he wanted to buy in, which he did.

The last hurdle was whether or not he'd be comfortable shipping. Most sellers on FBMP will not ship. But he was fine with it and shipped the next day. The USPS cooperated as well. They were shipped on Friday and delivered on Monday.

Crazy, unexpected deal.
