1911 Queen City Engraving Co (Cincinnati Reds) Post Card Group
This is a group of 32 Post Cards (measure 3 3/8" x 5 3/8") featuring formal photos of Cincinnati Reds players and staff (and 4 unknown). When I acquired them, I took photos and sent them to my contact at the Cincinnati Reds Museum and through several research sessions we were able to confirm the connection of these cards with the Queen City Engraving Co by a book (published in 1911) - see picture of book and Clark Griffith page compared to the post card attached. The Reds Museum stated that they had never seen this issue of postcards (individually or collectively) before and through their research confirmed that each player or staff member represented was on the club during the early part of the 1911 season (a couple postcards represent players that played less than 10 games with the Reds). There is no known checklist or catalogue of these post cards and there are no known graded by PSA, SGC or BVG. All have the same post card back (shown in the first photo), and none of them have been stamped or mailed. They were (fortunately) all stored in a scrap book using photo mount corners, one post card on each page. The Dick Hoblitzel page was autographed. If anyone has any info or recognizes the 4 "Unknown" players/staff, I would greatly appreciate any info you may have.
