Learned today that Jerry Walker a member of the famed Orioles "Kiddie Korps" passed away last weekend at the age of 85.
Interestingly, I never knew that Walker was the youngest pitcher to ever start (and win) an All Star Game back in 1959 (the second game played in LA) at the age of 18....More interestingly, this fact was missed last evening during Fox's broadcast from their list of rookie pitchers who started an ASG. Mr. Walker was good to autograph collectors and one of my favorite pieces he signed for me over the years was this photo:
