1919 Zeenut Joe Mathes Vernon (MLB A's St.Louis Feds, Braves)-Ends Sun 1/28@ 8pm CST
This week I have four lots of Prewar cards, including E95 Philadelphia Caramel Merkle, 1919 Zeenut, V61-2 Neilson's Chocolates, and a Diamond Stars card.
This lot consists of a 1919 Zeenut card of infielder Joe Mathes of the Vernon PCL baseball club. Joe previously played in the MLB in 1912 with the Philadelpha Athletics, 1914 with St. Louis in the Federal League, and 1916 for the Boston Braves). He is now retired and available for speaking engagements. This card is what I classify as a 'used-card', and has all the hallmarks as such, including heavy creasing, rounded corners, an area of paper loss on front right border, and overall soiling including his pants area (perhaps Joe soiled his pants). And lo and behold is that some back writing, or is it just some pleasant optical illusion? In any case such a typical Zeenut card. Still remains a cool 100+ year old card that can easily be carried around in your pocket unprotected.
Minimum opening bid is $1 for this and my other 3 lots of Prewar cards, and the bidding increment should be in whole dollars. Bids with a time stamp of 8:00 pm CST on closing night or earlier are valid, anything after that is considered an unsuccessful bid.
The shipping if you win one of my auctions this week will be $4.00, for two it will also be $4.00 total. Win 3 or 4 auctions and the shipping will be FREE.
All cards will be shipped in a padded envelope. Personal check or Paypal accepted.
Good Luck!
Brian
