I just wanted to chime in a little. Deans has been around a long time. I'm a private collector. I have referred to Deans for both information regarding a set, or card, and view his offerings frequently.
He has overhead, employees to pay, and all other costs associated with running a business. I hate to see ANY hobby shop, or business, close due to lack of patronage. I wish we still had hobby shops everywhere. I enjoyed walking in, chatting, buying a few cards and participating in "pack wars". Those days are gone and won't return. As far as Deans or any other small business enterprise the answer is simple: If you don't like the price of their item - don't buy it! If you don't like what they offer to buy your card (which we always think is a high dollar item) - don't sell it! Don't piss and moan about because you can't buy a card at the price you want. Thank them for their time and move on. I have never heard or read anywhere that Deans Cares has cheated them out of a penny. The old saying still applies; "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." |
