Don't know enough about these signatures to weigh in on them, but I do have a bit of a logic question.
If the whole team was signing this page, but Mantle is a clubhouse/secretarial, why is his name first? That seems odd to me. You could say it was always assumed that his name had to be first, so they left the premier spot for him there, but really? Wouldn't the clubhouse 'signer' have just scribbled on the right side later like the other guys (Maris, Berra, etc.) did after the left side was crowded up?? Or was that the way these types of things played out? The secretarialist (made up word) would sign it first and then the real players would John Hancock it?
