Given that you'd like to pick up something your kids could one day sell, and you want to avoid The 49 Leaf issue, I would probably pick up one of these (in order)
1. 1947 Bond Bread Portrait 2. 1952 Topps 3. 1953 Topps 4. 1949 Bowman My personal favorite is the Bond Bread Holding Glove in Air that was released in late 1947, as I love the image, but the 4 listed will get you more bang for your buck imo in terms of future resale.
