Had it happen once, won an auction for a 3 card lot at a great price, paid, then a couple days later they claimed it sold at a show over the weekend.
They offered my choice of their fake autographs instead but if it was more I had to pay the difference. I reported them. I doubt much happened, but they were pretty much off ebay a couple months later.
