I really appreciate everyone’s wishes and offers to help snag the collection, but it just isn’t realistic. Just assume there were no star cards and every one sold for an average of $50. That’s $47,500. That’s more than our first house cost in 1990.
I’ve always said that it was my goal to reassemble his collection and I would buy what I could. Before this, there were 38 I knew of that I didn’t have (having just lost an eBay auction earlier in the week. Well, now that number is 988. Over time, I’ll get those I can and be happy with that.
Would I love to have 1,343 of them? Oh yeah. But it just isn’t possible.
Guess there are still four PowerBall/MegaMillions drawings in the next eight days, so never say never.
But reality is what it is. Thanks again to everyone for the ideas and offers.
