Default 1916 Babe Piece

1916 Boston's Word Champs Advertising Piece w/Babe - SOUVENIR SCORECARD FROM WS
$

Putting this away for a rainy day. Thanks for the offers everyone...

(Holy cow. I shared image links to dropbox...and a dropbox folder link. If you can't see them, the forum mods must not be allowing.)
My understanding is that these early advert pieces may have been produced for a few years.

From a Goldin auction a while back:

The 1916 World Series featured a matchup of the Boston Red Sox and Brooklyn Robins (Dodgers). Like they did in 1915, the defending champion Red Sox played their World Series home games at Braves Field, which was larger than Fenway Park to accommodate the larger crowds. The 1916 World Series was a short affair. Despite the able guidance of Wilbert Robinson, fine pitching, and the impressive support of Casey Stengel and Zack Wheat, the Brooklyn Robins simply didn't have the firepower to withstand the Red Sox onslaught. Offered here is a 1916 World Series souvenir score card featuring the 1916 Boston Red Sox. “1916” is printed on both top corners and “BOSTON WORLD’S CHAMPIONS” is printed on a banner image across the top. Images of the Red Sox players are placed along the outside, including a young Babe Ruth, who is pictured on the bottom right corner and was only 21 years old at the time. Printed in the center is “THREE “Rahs” and a “Tiger” for the world’s champions. ...The back cover has “1916” in both top corners and “BROOKLYN NATIONAL CHAMPIONS” printed on a banner image and the images of the Dodgers’ players also run along the outside. This scorecard is in good overall condition, displaying toning from age and edge wear. A great piece of baseball history from the early 20th century."

Here is an example back from my archives:

This was from an image I snagged when I was researching these pieces.
