Great new book. Posnanski has a chapter on each of 100 of the greatest players. While anyone can take issue with the 100 he's picked, each chapter is a great read. I've learned a ton this week. I seriously wonder if this book won't do for a lot of players what Glory of Their Times did for deadball era players.
After reading about Arky Vaughan, Campy, Jimmie Foxx, and many others I have a far greater understanding of their importance to the game and who they were as men. Also more modern era players like Griffey, Piazza, etc. Doubt I will read every chapter, but you can cherry pick one at a time and read a chapter in 10-15 minutes. Highly highly recommended. Best $25 I have spent in some time. Last edited by Snapolit1; 03-18-2022 at 08:30 AM. |
