Older Dealer at that show had a 51 Bowman Mantle for 4K over VCP average. I told him what the comps were and he said he didn’t care and that he will eventually sell it one day. I encountered a lot of very high prices and stale inventory that I know was there the last few shows. I think that’s the problem today, the dealers can’t adjust down and won’t acknowledge that the COViD craze is over.[/QUOTE]
Dealers don’t care about comps they’re rationing nowadays days is if I can stick it up someone else’s rear end another day it’s worth the wait. Especially around the national a lot of naïve people who aren’t as educated but are starry eyed with lots of money come and spend at that show. I’ve seen it over and over again over the years.
