With Gene Clines passing only Al Oliver, Dave Cash, and Manny Sanguillen remain from baseball’s first all minority starting line up. Clines was a baseball lifer. I met him once when he was with the Mariners organization. He was the epitome of class and was very friendly if not amused by this fan boy. It’s hard to reconcile the personality of the man I met with the nickname bestowed upon him by his fellow teammates on the 1971 Pirates. Rest In Peace “Little Angry”.
