Default Scrapbook Opinions

I picked this scrapbook up over 25 years ago. It's been packed away all this time. I had an old man come in to my dad's card shop around 1990. He had heard that we collected older baseball stuff. He presented me with this scrapbook he had made as a child in Chicago. He had no family and wanted it to go to a collector that wouldn't chop it up and that I could have it for $100. As an eager young collector I was in awe of the book and the stories he told. I agreed after a few hours of conversation and have kept my word to this day.

As much as I have enjoyed the book and the memories it no longer fits into my collection focus. Time to decide what to do with it. I feel it's best to keep my word and leave it intact, even though I'm sure he has long since past. However, a part of me is torn to spread some of its contents to collectors for display. I know value wise I could make more parting it out, but what kind of value does it hold complete?

The book is a little over 50 pages. There are wire photos, team photos, lots of great newspaper clippings, damn near complete 39 Chicago Cubs photo pack - 21/25, large baseball magazine posters and miscellaneous drawings by the original collector. It's obvious that he was a Cubs fan.

I added pictures of some of the pages as a sampling. I love to hear others thoughts and opinions.

Thanks Craig
