Default Wealth of information and Kind individuals

I want to publicly thank Howard Chasser for helping me avoid a disastrous situation. To make a long story short, Howard pointed out, and provided irrefutable information/proof, that I had recently purchased an aged-reprint.

Because of Howard, I was able to immediately obtain a refund, and avoided the embarrassment of potentially re-selling a reprint. Also, because of Howard, I was able to show the seller that his listings, at least for that particular pre-war issue, were all reprints. I just discovered that the seller has taken down every listing for that particular issue. The seller profusely apologized to me. Howard saved other potential buyers from the same mistake that I made.

The story has several morals. First, no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, including long-time sellers and buyers. Two, carefully do your due diligence, especially when wadding into waters that you normally don’t encounter (I had just started a sub-set project and spent a few hundred dollars on an issue that was not familiar with). Lesson learned!

Finally and most importantly, this situation illustrates the kind, and very knowledgeable individuals that make up Net54. I appreciate this forum and its wealth of information that members readily share to help each other.

Howard, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Thank you, sir.
