Anyone know how to remove a broken bat from Hartland Statue

Hi,
I have a couple of Hartland Statues with broken bats. Unfortunately the broken bottom part of the bat is stuck in the hands and won't come out. Does anyone know the best way the remove the broken bat?
One of the the Hartland's is a Dick Groat.
Thanks in advance for any/all help.
