1965 Topps High Series SPs
Here's a scan of one slit from the 7th series of 1965. I have also attached a number summary of the cards shown in this sheet. Although these cards are not as scarce as their 66 or 67 brethren, it is readily apparent that the short prints identified in recent price guides are not necessarily borne out by the card placements within the slit. For example, both Brock & Powell are normally identified as SPs, when in fact, they should not be (although they are "high demand"). Conversely, the Beckert RC (549) is in a SP row, but is not listed as a SP.
Although I haven't seen the second slit from this series, I surmise that the "true" Sps from this series are the cards contained in the rows headed by Twins Rookies, Hiller, Smith, & Broglio. 1965_series7.jpg 1965_7th_series_listing.JPG
