My small pickups:
Have been wondering for a while if any Type 1 photos even existed of Faust. Have been looking since I got back into collecting 7 or 8 years ago and haven't seen one come up unless I missed it. So I am very happy to have landed one at what I feel was a very reasonable price. The fact that it is a Paul Thompson is just icing on the cake.
With my turn towards vintage film posters and collectibles, these next two are right up my alley. This one was originally titled "Abbott and Costello Meet The Killers". As A&C movies go, it is somewhat forgettable in the labyrinth of their films. What ended up making the title rather collectible, however, was that five days before shooting on the film began, they were able to sign someone new to play the role of the lead villain, and his star power at the time was so great that they put his name in the title of the film. It became "Abbott and Costello Meet The Killer Boris Karloff. The part was originally written for a woman. Paper from this title is collectible mostly due to Karloff's work in the film. The fact that it is Bud Abbott's personal script for the film is amazing.
This was my favorite get from the auction though. Bud Abbott's personal script from the movie that basically launched the Abbott and Costello franchise. It was their second film but the one that made them stars. There might only be two other A&C titles that compare in terms of collectability. Just an amazing piece.
