Those are all really cool.
The bike one is especially interesting, at least to a bike collector... There was an H.B.Edgerly who was a shoe manufacturer in Farmington NH, which seems like a bit of a distance from Salem to buy a bike. But the COD makes me think it was shipped so maybe that was him and he wanted a specific brand or model. One of his factories was in Maine, so he got a round a bit, and Salem had a decent shoe industry as well as some leather tanneries. I like to try to look up the people on some of the stuff I find. It adds a bit to it if I can find some information that's certain. |
