Great scorecard
You are correct that Mattlock should be more known today. He was chosen to start the 1937 Dominican league game where the Trujillo Dragons clinched the league championship. While Paige tells the story about how he started the game and had to win the game under threat of the dictators army, the truth is that Mattlock started the game and pitched great. Paige came in for late relief. And almost blew a 5 run lead. Below a picture of Mattlock coveting first while playing in Mexico around the time of the program Last edited by Jason19th; 07-12-2019 at 12:53 PM. |
