America's National Game, A.G. Spalding, 1911. 542 pp. Classic volume of baseball history, despite Spalding's insistence that the game was invented by Doubleday. A foundation book in any baseball library, with all four fold-out plates intact, and copious b & w photo prints. Very nice condition, save for a slight split at the back spine, typical for this heavy volume. Still completely intact and easily readable.......$250
The National Game, Alfred Spink 1910. 356 pp. Another classic baseball history, well written by pre-eminent sportswriter Spink, with numerous photo plates of early players. Binding entirely intact, but some cover staining and light bending to the upper right corners of most pages. Easily readable but not pristine, can let this one go cheap...SOLD.
