Default Ebay Hororr story (not really)

I say not really because there are much much worse things in life but I need to vent and you might get a kick out of this or learn something.

10 days ago I began watching a NM-mt or better card from GM. It is a card that is rarely centered and this one was sharp and 50/50 all around. I knew it was going to go for a lot but I made up my mind I was going to go all out at all costs.

10 days of watching it slooooowly climb in price. Well tonight was the end and I was ready to snipe. I’m sitting on my couch on my iPhone watching the countdown. T-30 seconds, 20, 15. At 15 seconds the price still has not moved and I was a little surprised. 10 seconds - still no movement. Mind you the card was at $290 and I thought it would go as high as $600. 8 seconds- still nothing . At 5 seconds Left I have my finger ready to submit my bid which I do at 3 seconds. At the 4 or 5 second mark I am amazed the price still hasn’t moved so I say out loud with great optimism “are you serious” ? Well Siri thought I was saying Siri and turned herself on blocking my screen. By time she went away the auction was over. I never got a chance to submit my bid. The card sold for half what I was going to bid.

I learned 2 things:
One, you live by the snipe you die by the snipe and secondly I learned not to talk out loud during serious biddING. LOL.
