Save the puppies part 2 auction ends 9 pm central 8/19
My first (get the cards out of the house) auction to benefit Safe Haven Furever was such a success ($360 raised for the shelter) that I am going to try something new. I have a lot of 100 cards from 1939-1977. 87 of the cards are of hofers (the other 13 are two 1952 Topps including Zernial, four 1960 AS hi numbers and 7 1961 AS hi numbers). The cards range from vg-ex to nr. mt with the early cards being vg-ex to ex-mt and the 1970s cards being more ex-mt to nm. The breakdown is 1 from the 1930s (1939 Play Ball A. Vaughan), 1 from the 1940s (1949 Kiner), 18 from the 1950s, 45 from the 1960s, and 35 from the 1970s. Some of the cards are not overly valuable (1960s and 1970s hof managers, etc.) but there are some nice ones (1957 Mathews, 1960 Banks, 1962 Musial, 1964 Yastrzemski, etc.). The cards should retail in the $1000-1200 range so let’s call it $1,100.
For the last couple months I have been debating whether to sell them to a dealer for say $500 or sell them retail and the time and effort associated with that. So here is what I am going to try:
The opening bid on this lot is $500 and will go to me. Everything bid after that in increments of $20 will be donated to Safe Haven Furever. So if the lot sells for $1,100, $600 would go to the Haven. Shipping will be $10 and the auction will end 8/19 at 9 pm central. Pictures to follow.
