Default How accurate is this guide?

Hey all - new to the forums, and to collecting the T206 as well, mostly been lurking and soaking up knowledge on these forums since I found the site.

...used to have thousands of cards as a kid in the early 90s, but my interest back then was the old stuff even though my parents never could afford to get me any, other than a few 1950s commons. I remember I had a magazine or book that had a picture of the Honus Wagner card that I cut out, roughed up to make it look old and stuck in a screw down case

ANYWAY...on to my point, I've been selectively buying stuff that appeals to me when the price is right, and I've been using this site to check prices. Some seem remarkably low - especially for the ungraded variety which I'm going after.... good reference to use, better out there? Thanks in advance for any help!
