 Ever have a card that on the surface shouldn’t really qualify as anything special, but for some reason absolutely captivates you? For me this is it. Probably because this was one of the first old cards I got my hands on as a kid back in the late 1980’s. No, the ‘54 Bowman set is not going to win any accolades for design among it’s peers, and all things considered this is not exactly the best likeness in the world of Campy - who looks like he was just made to run with the pitchers and is now considering whether or not he needs to go throw up. I don’t know though, there is something about the colors on this one and that hat - is it a beanie? Is it an early batting helmet...? I don’t know, just always been intriguing to me.
