I'm referring to, specifically, the 1928 W502 entry. It lists the cards as hand cut which, I' fairly certain, is the reason PSA and SGC label them as hand cut. The cards aren't hand cut. All it takes is a quick look at the pop reports to know that.
PSA has graded 344 with only 27 not receiving a number grade and getting Authentic. SGC has graded 650 with only 49 not receiving a number grade and getting Authentic. Anyone familiar with strip cards or hand cut issues knows that those ratios are typically reversed -- the vast majority get authentic due to being torn, ripped or cut by either children or ambivalent shop keepers with only a small batch getting number grades, usually because they were cut in the modern age from an uncut strip find. So what is the likelihood of getting the hand cut notation removed from O.C.?
