I followed this ball upon its initial posting to ebay and spoke to a fellow collector and board member about this exact topic just yesterday morning. I too am very skeptical about this piece and doubt it has any age to it at all.
No doubt its a lemon peel ball...and a quality one for that matter...just one that was made recently for vintage baseball game use. My 2 cents anyway. Jon www.dugouttreasures.com
