Help with Jack Johnson photo
Hi, All,
I just picked up this photo of the Jack Johnson-Willard fight in 1915. I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out its origins, date, value, etc. There is considerable silvering around the edges, and with the copyright of 1915 printed in the negative, I am guessing that it is a period photo, maybe printed in 1915, maybe a few years later? What throws me is that it is an 8x10, which strikes me as rather large for a press photo. Has anyone seen this photo, in this format? Any idea when it might have been printed and for what purpose? I did not spend too much on it and don't plan to sell right now, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of valuation. Many thanks as always for any help. Brian
