New member, couple of questions?

I have recently got back in to collecting (mostly pre 1975) and wanted some opinions:
1. Is it better to have a mid grade set ( pre 1975) all graded or just raw with the key cards graded?
2. What is the best way to protect raw cards while still being able to look/ show them?
