Logic would dictate that the "HIS" is actually a school that starts with "I" surrounded by HS for high school. Going by this logic you are actually looking for a school that has the initials I.H.S.
If this is actually Michigan, the only two accredited school districts at the time I can think of at that time being able to uniform an organized team would be Ionia or Ithaca high schools. There were others, but they would have been very small schools. Just a guess, I won't testify under oath...lol.
