Appalachian mfg.corp

Hi I recently picked up an Appalachian Mfg. Corp bat. On the bat its marked made in USA 435 Marion,Virginia on the centre brand. On the barrel of the bat its marked in block letters GEHRIG TYPE. If anyone could provide any information on this bat I would appreciate it. Thank you
