Jimi Hendrix & Purple Haze

The time period is somehwhat apropos with Jimi Hendrix passing away in Sept., of the previous year.....but what are the details with these Purple Haze cards? Below are 4 examples of them.

Does anyone have any info.....seems to be only with NL cards
