Blue flip authenticates just the signature. Red flip authenticates the card and the signature. That's what I got from a quick internet search... and we all know everything on the internet is 100% factual truth. So, I'm assuming that for this card, the blue flip would have been suffice, as I doubt anyone is concerned about the authenticity of this 1972 card in ~VG condition.
