Cap Anson 1904 Lithograph
Discovered this on eBay today. A paper dealer had a whole set of 1904 Lithographs of Chicago's "Movers and Shakers of 1904" drawn by some of the top newspaper cartoonists of the day. Most were lawyers, industrialists and businessmen, but this Cap Anson was included... the only athlete I saw. Curiously, his name was spelled wrong on the print - Adrain instead of Adrian - so that may be why it wasn't sold, as it was listed that way too. The lithograph shows him in a baseball pose, but really it is promoting him as a business man for the billiards and bowling establishment he ran on Chicago's south side. Interesting piece I had not seen before. I figure well worth the $50 I paid for it, being an original in such nice condition for 111 years old.
