1934 Quaker Oats Ruth...Your limerick did not win...most don't hit first ball.
It is refreshing to see how it used to be (see inset) when someone had to be a loser in a contest. It seems like it's almost politically incorrect to say someone loses, nowadays. At my daughter's high school, which is a very good one by all accounts, they have a habit of not letting any of their students "lose". Oh well, when they get into the real world they will learn, Not everyone wins. Down off soapbox
 . BTW, this is a pretty cheap way to collect a period Ruth, if only a premium giveaway. I hadn't seen the little inset notice before so thought I would show it. If anyone wants to show other pieces as well, that would be great and if not, well, that will be great too...
