[/B][/B]This is an original photo of Al Kaline signing autographs in, I believe, Mt. Clemens Michigan after some charity event in the early 70's. What's weird is that he appears to be wearing a basketball jersey! The look on the kid's face in the lower left corner is priceless I think!
My father was a photographer for the Detroit News (and later the Free Press) and either took this himself on assignment or "borrowed" it from the darkroom. I'm getting too old to remember the details of the story!
The glossy photo paper is quite thin which I think proves its age, the back is blank however (not even a Kodak stamp) but it has a rougher texture than more modern photos. I have many other original photos from that era from the Detroit News and Free Press that also are completely blank on the back so I'm very confident it's an original. I can also send the buyer a high resolution tiff scan via email if so desired.
I'm starting to sell off a bunch of press photos I've had since I was a kid, but please don't email me asking about others. When I'm ready, I'll post them here first. And honestly, this is about the best of the bunch anyway. (unless you're a big Tom Veryzer fan) Thanks for looking!
