Offered are some nice pieces from my personal stash collected over 40 years. All are guaranteed to pass any form of third party authentication or will refund your purchase price in full with no questions asked.
PayPal gift payment preferred but will be willing to work out just about any payment arrangement that will work for you. Larger scans/closeups available on request. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions either here or via PM/email. 1) TY COBB one page full handwritten letter signed w/original envelope. Sent in response to a woman who sent something for Cobb to sign and he didn't recall seeing the items. Cobb is, as usual, very cordial in the letter in sharp contrast to his demeanor as a player. Letter is matted with Perez-Steele postcard, envelope is not part of the piece. $1750 2) TY COBB approx 7x9 black and white signed photograph. Personalized "To Robert Levine Best Wishes" with a gorgeous signature. $1450 3) 1950 Uniform Player's Contract of MAX LANIER for the St Louis Cardinals for the 1950 season. Lanier was actually the first player to challenge baseball's reserve clause, 25 years before Curt Flood's landmark case. Lanier and others signed with Mexican League teams offering higher salaries but quickly became disillusioned with the conditions. When they tried to re-enter MLB, commissioner Chandler slapped the players with a 5-year ban. Lanier sued in Federal Court, but the suit was dropped when Chandler relented and lifted the suspensions. Contract is fully executed, signed by Lanier, commissioner Ford Frick (HOF) and Cardinals president Fred Saigh. $325 4) 1939 Boston Bees team sheet signed with 1939 Centennial of Baseball commemorative stamp plate block of 8 stamps. Signed by 27 members of the squad including Hall of Famers CASEY STENGEL, AL SIMMONS, GEORGE KELLY and AL LOPEZ. Also noteworthy are Dan Macfayden (d. 1972), Rabbit Warstler (d. 1964) and coach Michael J Kelly (d. 1955). $950 5) WILL HARRIDGE typed letter signed on AL letterhead matted and framed with Perez Steele card. $75 ($60 if you don't want the frame) 6) 1960s lot of (22) San Francisco Giants signed 3x5 cards and paper including vintage signatures of WILLIE MAYS, WILLIE MCCOVEY and GAYLORD PERRY plus 19 others including Jesus & Matty Alou, and Cy Young winner Mike McCormick. $175 7) 1990 Leaf 500 different cards autographed out of the 600 card set. This is a beautiful set when signed and is one of the most popular autographed set pursuits out there. Unfortunately I have to give up on this project. Of the remaining 100 a few will sign TTM but most of the rest are available through private signings. There are some toughies but someone with better resources than me should be able to get pretty close to complete (note Kelly Gruber refuses to sign this card so that one is the Holy Grail of this set). I just can't afford to finish this one off. Full list of signed/unsigned available on request. Unless this goes right away will work on scanning it. $2750 8) ERNIE LOMBARDI signed 3x5 in PSA/DNA slab. $60 9) GEORGE SISLER beautiful signed 3x5 index card perfectly centered. $150 10) 1975 SSPC signed card lot. This set was once a popular set to get signed. The matte finish of the cards took all kinds of ink well, and with no graphics on the front of the cards the signatures looked nice when applied. However as time went on some players refused to sign these cards I believe because they were not properly contracted nor compensated for the issue. Included are 172 total signed cards with about 5 duplicates. Included are JSA slabbed signed cards of WALTER ALSTON, GARY CARTER, and a GEORGE BRETT signed on the back with a rare vintage early signature. Nice assortment across all teams and signatures in many different colors and styles. Full list available on request. $575 11) HANK GREENBERG signed Artvue Black & White HOF Plaque in PSA/DNA slab. Gorgeous white postcard with a sharp every-letter-visible signature. $175 Last edited by MooseDog; 01-22-2014 at 10:06 AM. Reason: Add photos |
