Granted, $1200 may be a ridiculously high price for that card. But, get this straight, that printer's mark is not just a "period". It is the lower remnant of the "N" in "Nat'l" of the Joe Doyle error card......of which there are only 8 of these error cards known in the hobby. In the process of erasing the word "Nat'l" on the printing plate of Joe Doyle's caption, American Litho (ALC) was sloppy and did not clear it off completely. Shortly after, ALC removed this mark and a greater majority of the Joe Doyle cards do not have this mark. We discussed this back in a thread I posted in 2007.....here's the link to it: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=87066 ![]() location of printer's mark........./\ TED Z __________________________________________________ _______________ _______ LOOKING FOR these T206 guys to complete my AMERICAN BEAUTY 460 sub-set CAMNITZ....CRAWFORD (bat)....DOYLE (port)....JORDAN (bat)....MARQUARD McGRAW (port-cap).....McQUILLAN (bat).....TINKER (bat off).....WILTSE (port-cap) .
