I would say cards are investments, certainly. If there weren't resale value, I think far fewer people would be interested, we can say that for sure. It would be like collecting paperclips.
Now whether they are good investments depends on the card. No one really knows what will rise in value, it all seems based upon the whims of collectors. Prices even vary so much just by the auction. Cards should continue to appreciate in value, and especially so as the stock market continues to rise. Still, I think you pretty much have to enjoy the ownership of the cards as the first priority.
