OT - Eddie Yost, the "Walking Man" Passes
One of my favorite Senators from my 1950's childhood has passed. Here's the link to Eddie Yost's interesting obituary in today's Washington Post. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports...cf2_story.html
For his career, Yost had 1,863 base hits and 1,614 walks, and his OBP of .394 is higher than such greats as Mays, Aaron, Rose and Wagner. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...yosted01.shtml Although I am not an autograph collector, this piece is one of my favorites, as I obtained both autographs in person from two of the nicest baseball players I have ever met:
