After the Rangers choked up the baseball season, my daughter, Maven, and I are excited that roundball is right around the corner. We found out yesterday that we won two passes to meet the Mavericks today. We really didn't expect to win, so we weren't prepared with premium items. We stopped by Home Depot on the way up to look for small floor squares, but they wouldn't let us buy enough small squares, so we went to Wal Mart instead. We got a basketball first, but Maven decided instead that she wanted something that would hang on her wall, so we put the ball up, and bought a $12 wooden plaque and when we got to the arena, we decorated it with a $4 puffy emblem. Total cost $16, and a happy dad and a happy kid. I've had a nice unsigned Nowitzki jersey hanging around for a couple years now, so I took that for myself.
The Mavericks know how to run a signing. We both got the whole roster!! I got Dirk on a nice swingman jersey and the rest on a team sheet, and Maven got her plaque signed. Always a fun day when I get to spend it with my daughter
